This training
is part of the NU Integrated Crop Management Winter Programs. Trainers
are from the NU faculty and the agricultural industry. The clinics
provide an unbiased approach by highly skilled trainers.
During this interactive
session, participants of this workshop will be presented with several
selected topics related to precision agriculture. Different ways to
obtain spatially variable attributes of field performance is the main
scope for this workshop. In the end, the participants should understand
the capabilities of current technology that provides reliable and
useful data for site-specific crop management.
Participants
will obtain a comprehensive review of tools and methods involved in
precision agriculture, discuss current issues on Global Positioning
System and vehicle guidance; explore potentials and limitation of
commodity crops yield mapping, review the role of sensor technology
for precision agriculture, and understand multilayer approach for
spatial data management.

Nebraska Department of Biological Systems Engineering; Richard Ferguson,
Extension Soil Specialist, University of Nebraska Department of Agronomy
and Horticulture; Paul Jasa, Extension Engineer, University of Nebraska
Department Biological Systems Engineering; and Dave Varner, University
of Nebraska Extension Educator.
