This training
is part of the NU Integrated Crop Management Winter Programs. Trainers
are from the NU faculty and the agricultural industry. The clinics
provide an unbiased approach by highly skilled trainers.
This advanced
level precision agriculture workshop is limited to 15 participants
- so sign up early! Participants will learn about data management
in precision agriculture in a classroom setting as well as in a computer
lab. Each participant will have the opportunity to apply different
data management procedures to a data set generated for a Nebraska
site.
Participants will
obtain a comprehensive review of tools and methods for spatial data
collection, become familiar with cost-free geospatial data available
through the internet, be able to combine various data sources in a
GIS package, be familiar with the most popular data mining approaches,
and understand how to develop prescription maps for variable rate
application of agricultural inputs

of Biological Systems Engineering; Achim Dobermann, Extension Soil
Fertility/Nutrient Management Specialist, NU Department of Agronomy
and Horticulture, and Maribeth Milner, GIS Specialist, NU Department
of Agronomy and Horticulture, and Dave Varner, NU Extension Educator.
