* Agronomy and Horticulture - Research performed at the ARDC includes the largest irrigated turfgrass research facility in the U.S. with over 50 acres dedicated to turfgrass studies. The John Seaton Anderson Turf and Ornamental Research Facility at the ARDC is utilized by UNL’s interdisciplinary Turfgrass Science Team who are finding ways to reduce water, pesticides, fertilizer and mowing. The studies focus on extended season, low input and low maintenance varieties. Major Buffalo Grass research has resulted in varieties that have extended to the commercial market. Our varieties are finding their way into golf courses, parks and into the home landscapes of consumers.
